What Got This Director Here?: All About Eve.
My Favorite Past Experience Was…: All About Eve.
What Did I Watch: Ghost and Mrs. Muir.
Where Does He Fit: With a title like The Ghost and Mrs. Muir one would expect horrors, but considering my parents are big fans of this film I suppose I should not be surprised that this turned out to be the sort of nice romance everyone can enjoy, with beautiful photography and music to help it out. The main asset this has is making the pragmatic debate between loving someone because of their mind over their body the forefront. Tierney’s performances in Laura and Leave Her to Heaven may have been assets for that work in how productively flat she was, but this is a genuine performance. Harrison and Sanders are also great. Should appeal to anyone at least a little.
Most Valuable Asset: Writing.
Most Excited For: Suddenly Last Summer.
Did They Deserve a Spot?: Too high, but yes.
Coming Up Next: Sensualist Josef von Sternberg.
